In the area there is an exceptional view of the city, the mountains (Macizo de Anaga) and the Sea. In order to take fully advantage of the landscape potential, the considerable difference in height between the terrain and the adjacent street is used to make the height of the roof correspond with the slope of the street, arranging the uses of the programme below this level.
The public image of the building is that of a large stage, with the city and the landscape as the background scene.
The essential idea of a stage as scencic space is, in this case, related to elements of everyday life: the street, the city in which the action, as it unfolds, will define the space of representation.
The interior patio, generated by threedimensional folding of the wooden surface of the roof, is defined as an inclined surface, which adapts to the slight slope of the land, and conceived of as a 'scenic box', that affirms itself as the building's geographical as well as social reference point.
A zig-zag shaped ramp route system crosses the patio and connects the different scenic spaces of the building.

The building is situated in the area San Matías-Taco, in an urban environment that presents a high level of complexity and social conflict.
The set is structured by a perpendicular system which has a covered veranda as a base, securing a protected atmosphere although open. Supported perpendicularly to the principal veranda-corridor, are arranged the teaching, administrative and sports areas, as building elements functionally differentiated, as well as the varied landscape areas, which take advantage of the pre existing arboreal species.
The arrangement of volumes and spaces of the centre, which adapts itself to the original terraced structure of the plot, allows the formation of a simple system of access and interior passages with easy control. At the same time, the concentration of the edified volume, liberates an important surface of gardens, marked by the existing arboreal species and inclined visually towards the urban environment.
The different teaching areas (polivalent classrooms, laboratories, workshops, seminars), receive natural, homogeneous and indirect lighting in an ideal way through the continuing glassed surface that forms the façade of the modules towards the north-east.
The system of corridors and circulations on the other hand develops, orientated to the southwest, linked to a system of vertical alternate concrete 'mullions' that generate a play of lights and shades, projected on the coloured surfaces.

A small plot of fifteen metres per side, situated between two squares and adjacent to the small chapel of San Bernardo, is the peculiar urban loaction of this Centre. The programme is reduced to a polyvalent assembly hall and three flexible workshops, that can be used as classrooms, meeting rooms or as a small library.
The principal polyvalent space, situated on the upper level of the building, is conceived as a meeting place, extension of the Plaza San Bernardo.
It is covered by an alternating system of concrete elements with a Z-shaped section that extends to the façade.
The discontinuous diecast shape forms a shade-filled space pierced by the light, showing its anamorphous embodiment in the surface of the floor. The cut-out light and shadow appears indistinctly on the ceiling, the walls or the floor and dissolves the differences that exist between them. In the two opposite fronts, large glass panes permit an absolute visual integration between the interior space and the outdoor squares.
Under the dispersed shadow of the lattice, opening on to both squares, is an empty, bare space activated by the light.

The Medical Centre Arona-Vilaflor is located in Arona, a small town in the Southern part of Tenerife Island. It is situated in an elevated position at the entrance of Arona and surrounded by the mainroad beneath it, which leads from the Sea up to the famous volcano Teide.
The building is formed by a dialogue between two continuous skins: an exterior skin of aluminium plates, confering it its urban presence, and an interior one, made of wood, that transforms the empty space delimited by the exterior skin in a succession of spaces, which, according to the programme, should function with certain independence. This second skin separates the specific and more private zones from the public ones, as the reception, staircase, waiting rooms and corridors, constructing a contact surface that organizes the way one moves throughout the building.
The exterior skin is composed of large sized aluminium-polythene panels that are folded using a simple burring technique. This neutral exterior skin is activated by light, which becomes a defining and dissolving element. Depending on the changing angle of incidence, it can show us all the different tones and textures of grey, and, at the same time, dissolve the skin into a mimetic reflection of everything that surrounds it.

The plot is situated in the Town Centre of El Sauzal, a small population that occupies a prominent outstanding hillside position in the northeast of the Island of Tenerife.
The building is located in a pocket of land inside an existing block and connects a new system of open spaces- pedestrian ways and landscaped areas, that is thought to potentiate the development of urban relations in the north-south direction of the hillside.
The essential idea of the building is to create an open multi-purpose space, where the local council can carry out different cultural activities. Due to the diversity of the predicted program uses (Municipal Library, small sized Auditorium, Media Centre etc.) and integrating the land drop of the area, the building is formed in a stepped manner in several building units. These constitute differentiated areas of the Centre, arranged around two large landscaped interior areas, that make coincide in each case, the level of access to the different segments with the slope of the exterior open space, pedestrian way that connects the different squares of the Town.
In this way, a subtle differentiation and independence is created between the proposed functional areas, allowing an understanding of the public character of the building and its pathways as an extension of the exterior public space.

A perpendicular system, which has a covered veranda as a base, structures the set. The veranda is the reference element of the routes between the different units, securing a protected atmosphere although open, which takes advantage of the local climatic conditions. At the same time, it establishes a good visual communication of the whole centre.
Abutting on the veranda are arranged the teaching buildings, the administrative and sports unit as well as the guardian's house.
The several teaching areas differ spatially and are arranged so that the noisy places, such as workshops, cafeteria or sports areas, are spatially separated from the classroom areas and library.
On both sides of the veranda are placed landscaped surfaces: between the units, are arranged Canary palm trees, and in the garden areas different native species of Canary flora in order to design a nature classroom along the daily route.

The project creates a space that is used as an Urban Park that disposes of various uses of playful and sportive character.
A special impact is made on the design and disposition of vegetation slopes and wooded areas that surround the sports areas, in order to minimize their visual impact and create differentiated spaces. In this way, from diverse perspectives, inside and outside the park, will predominate the "green" content, typical of a park.
The system of tracks that facilitate the footpaths of the park, contributes also to the spatial differentiation between the areas, allowing the peaceful enjoyment of the park, meanwhile sports activities are in progress.
This reasoning places the small Drinks Kiosk, in an access area more related to the pedestrian way that joins the park with the Urban Centre.
With only one material element that unfolds in all spatial coordinates, the kiosk defines, in this place, a border, and creates a shade as a place to stay.

The site is situated on the Acorán residential estate, a developing area in the southwestern region of the city of Santa Cruz.
The house is L-shaped, oriented towards the Sea and closing in onto the street. Two storeys, unfolding at different levels, define the relative differences between the levels of the house and the landscape.
The programme combines uses that should work with a certain amount of independence, sharing general areas of the kitchen, living room and garden.
The entrance is located at an intermediate level, providing access to the studio by a slight incline, and descending to the living area over a stepped ramp. This adaptation to the steep slope of the land allows certain isolation from the surrounding buildings.
The wing parallel to the street contains the master bedroom on the ground floor, which is connected to the painting and sculpture studio on the top floor that has an independent access from the exterior, via a bridge.
In the perpendicular wing are found the kitchen, dining room and lounge, the latter opens completely towards the garden. On the upper floor, the guest rooms, apart from relating directly with the kitchen and the rest of the common areas of the house, also have an independent access from the outside.
Entering the house, a cleavage, formed by diverging walls, frames, like the barrancos (ravines) do, the distant landscape and the Sea.

The plot corresponds to the edge of a densely populated environment, in the conurbation of the peripheral areas of the municipalities of La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Characterized morphologically by the phenomenon of marginal urban development, the original self constructed small houses are overlapped by recent promotions of collective residences. Both cases are defined by the narrowness of the passageways in relation to the building and the small size of the plots, a product of the maximum utilization of the land.
The principal operation proposed by the project is the typological relation of the residential unit with a system of transversal patios, perpendicular to the existing streets, understood as elements of urban relation and vicinal integration, at the same time creating a spatial relation between the adjoining streets.
The transversal patios are formed as spatial units with their own identity, adjusting the treatment of the interior façades to the exterior ones and virtually extending the public area into the building by folding of the façades in the entrance area.
